Find a shape that works with your contact point and movement.
Elongated Profiles
Longer profiles can offer additional reach. The trade-off may be a narrower face or a different swing feel. Check handle length separately; more total length does not always mean more space for a second hand.
Widebody Profiles
A wider face gives you more room on either side of the contact point. Stability and the response to off-center hits also depend on construction and weight distribution.
Hybrid Profiles
Compare hybrid paddles by their face and handle dimensions. JOOLA Kosmos measures 16.3 × 7.7 in, between the 16.5 × 7.5 in Perseus and 16.0 × 8.0 in Scorpeus.
Choose using your common miss
Think about whether you usually arrive late, reach for the ball or miss across the face. Try both shapes in the same drills. Keep notes on repeated results rather than one especially good shot.
Read the dimensions side by side
Essentials measures 15.5 × 7.9 in; Hyperion C2 measures 16.5 × 7.5 in. The former is wider, the latter longer. This does not isolate shape: face material, core thickness and weight also differ.
